TWMF went back to Pierce Point at sunset and it was incredible. There were whale spouts everywhere, elk wandering around, Northern Harriers hunting and a gorgeous sunset. We are thankful to be able to live in this beautiful place.

Lots and lots of whale spouts up and down the Great Beach in Point Reyes today. A surfer reported seeing a Great White Shark at North Beach yesterday afternoon. The ocean is alive!

"The three young drifters accused in the killings of a hiker in Marin County and a backpacker in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park pleaded not guilty to murder and robbery charges Thursday in Marin County Superior Court. "We are in the early stages of this tragic case," said Brown, Lampley's attorney. "No evidence has been presented. Our young client, Morrison Lampley, is presumed innocent. We ask that everyone withhold judgment until the court process is complete."

An unfortunate incident this weekend: "A Mill Valley man driving a black Tesla was arrested Saturday on charges of striking and injuring a cyclist on Shoreline Highway near Panoramic Highway before leaving the scene in what authorities called a road-rage incident."

Another incredible rescue by our local emergency units in Stinson Beach last night. "Rescue crews extricated two people from a car that had plunged off a cliff into the ocean Friday night on Shoreline Highway south of Stinson Beach, the CHP said. While battling the rising tide and waves crashing against the rocks and the vehicle, crews were able to extricate the male driver and female passenger, both of Stinson Beach, and prepare them for transport." "Mystery light streaking across Bay Area skies was a test missile." Who saw it last night? Here is a picture that Alex Porrata took from Marshall around 6:15pm on Saturday night. Heard a couple of reports from people who saw it. Very strange.

This is horrible. "California's crab fiasco is worse for sea lions then humans. An unusually deep layer of warm water in the Pacific has fueled a Pseudo-nitzchia bloom like scientists have never seen. Sea lions eat crabs, in addition to all those little algae-feeders like sardines and anchovies"”all packed with domoic acid because of the monster bloom. And there's no way to warn them of the poison lurking in their meals."

For those keeping score, Measure G passed yesterday. "The Inverness Public Utility District is asking voters to increase its appropriations limit through the 2017-8 fiscal year. Measure G, which is on the Nov. 3 ballot, requires a simple majority to pass. The routine measure, required under the state constitution's so-called Gann amendment, will allow the district to use all of the local tax revenue it collects." Yay.

There was a structure fire on Miwok in Inverness last night around 3am. We were woken up by the fire trucks and watched the lights from across the valley. Not sure how bad it was, anyone else know the details?
