A good reminder to keep your eyes in the road in the Point Reyes National Seashore Park. No shoulders. Everyone ok here, just a long wet wait for the tow truck.

Heard a report that cars were broken into at the Palomarin trailhead out to Alamere Falls over the weekend. Anyone else hear that? Or is that a 'local' rumor?

"Marin ranchers and farmers will be allowed to slaughter a limited number of animals on their premises following a change in regulations approved by county supervisors Tuesday. The decision by the Marin Board of Supervisors was unanimous and came despite vocal opposition. Before taking a vote, supervisors listened to nearly three hours of public comment from dozens of speakers." FULL STORY:

"The body of a Penngrove woman missing for more than two years has been found and her death is being investigated as a homicide, a Sonoma County sheriff's spokesman said Tuesday. The remains of Annie Bailly, 63, were discovered Feb. 17 by motorists in a Marin County car crash who spotted the body over an embankment at Pt. Reyes National Seashore, Sgt. Spencer Crum said. Bailly was reported missing by her husband, Kerry Bailly, on Dec. 7, 2014. Her car, keys and purse were left at her Davis Lane home. A cause of death was not released but evidence suggests Bailly was murdered, Crum said." (thx AR/PD) FULL STORY:

I did not know this. "The directors of the Marin County Free Library and Marin County Parks teamed up and created a program that allows library patrons to visit parks free of charge. At 10 MCFL branches and the traveling Bookmobile, library card holders can check out passes to McNears Beach in San Rafael, Paradise Beach in Tiburon, Miller boat launch in Tomales, Stafford Lake Park in Novato and Black Point boat launch. The passes may also be placed on hold, making it a breeze to grab a book and head outside this spring." -

Note: Facebook does not post stories by the date published, so you may not get news right away from TWMF in your feed. Same with Twitter. Options to get updates on time: set alerts in Facebook or follow us on Twitter and set alerts. Or check the website at www.thewestmarinfeed.com which has both FB and Twitter feeds on it. I've thought about building a text/email update service, would people be interested in that? Not sure if I could do that for free however.

Overflow traffic from SIr Francis Drake slide closure is overwhelming the traffic light at Lucas Valley Road in Nicasio. If SFD is not open today (no ETA on that), be prepared for a very messy commute on way home tonight. Traffic is backing up as far as eye can see right now at Nicasio Valley Rd and Lucas Valley Rd. CHP is on scene. (Thx FP)

On W. Marin Share from Rhonda Kutter Dear West Marin Neighbors, "We have just spoken with the department of Public Works staff about the closure of Sir Francis Drake Blv. at the east side of White's Hill. The Roads Division is reporting that the slide is actively moving and it is not safe to begin clean up or repairs. At this time the closure is indefinite. DPW is continually evaluating the slide and will commence clean-up as soon as possible, hopfully in the next few days. We will keep you informed.
Stay Safe!
