It is fawn season right now. WMF spotted these two freshies in Inverness this morning. Please drive safe!
Wednesday sunset in Point Reyes.
Local artist Marilyn Beck ran into Mr. Badger while hiking in West Marin.
A great opening paragraph: "Point Reyes is just an hour’s drive north of San Francisco yet so many British travellers miss it in favour of a road trip south. Over the years I’ve visited with my dad in all seasons and I never tire of the rugged coastline with its fabulous hikes, kayak trips to see sun-worshipping seals and the best barbecued oysters. Yes, you read that right — and no, I promise it’s not some American abomination."
There was water rescue on Tomales Bay on Sunday. A boat with five people and a dog hit rough water and began sinking.
A great band tonight at The Western in Point Reyes Station. Finom.
"After more than two years of mail delays, makeshift service, and community outcry, the isolated community of Bolinas in West Marin is getting its post office back — a major step toward restoring normalcy to the tiny coastal town."
Spotted this good looking custom leather walkie talkie holder in the Inverness Park Market today.
If you haven’t been in it yet, a big paving project in Point Reyes Station happening. Expect delays.
There is so much AI slop on social media these days, particularly on Facebook. Please report it when you see it and don't let your grandparents like it. That being said, this one made WMF laugh (and then cry). The strangest of times.
There is space left for the owl walk tonight in Point Reyes Station as part of the International Dark Sky Week:

Owl Walk with Biologist Joe Mueller, Giacomini Wetlands Gate, 3rd & C Streets, Point Reyes Station. Imagine the magic of the first time you hear an owl call back to Joe! He will meet Owl Walk participants at the at the gate to the Giacomini Wetlands, 3rd and C Streets in Point Reyes Station & to the group for about 20 minutes, then take a loop walk to the white barn and back, then carpool to the Bear Valley Visitor Center. Owl sightings aren’t guaranteed.

$50 suggested donation, cash or check at the gate, Limited to 15.

There is an update on the Creekside Pizza and Tap room web site with more information about the tragedy that happened on Friday and ways to help. Please support these families and the community however you can.
A horrific tragedy last night. Our hearts are broken. “Four high-school students are dead and two are in critical condition after a car crashed into a tree and was set ablaze in Marin County Friday night. The six passengers were all students at Archie Williams High School in San Anselmo.”

Our hearts go out to the family and friends of this young man. Please be so careful when surfing, especially at Stinson Beach and Bolinas where it can get really shallow. "Amin Noroozi was at Stinson Beach on April 14 with friends when he was critically injured while diving into the water. During one dive, he struck his head and had to be airlifted to a hospital. His mother, Ofelia Noroozi, told KTVU that her son was briefly able to speak after the accident. “He said, ‘I’m sorry. I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to be like this.’"
